Jared A. Goldberg, Ph.D.

Welcome to my personal space!

I’m a theoretical and computational astrophysicist investigating the dynamic lives and energetic deaths of massive stars! I’m currently a Research Fellow at the Flatiron Institute’s Center for Computational Astrophysics, working primarily in the stars and plasma astrophyiscs group (name change on website pending). Previously I was a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow in Physics at UC Santa Barbara, working with Lars Bildsten. The overarching goal: to understand the relationship between the observable explosions of stars and their stellar structure, and their role in shaping their near-surface and distant environments. Or, to very loosely paraphrase my favorite TV show: “Massive Stars and Explosions: What can we learn? Can we learn things? Let’s find out!”

You can find a list of my research works here
